MEXT Scholarship (Monbukagakusho Scholarship)
The MEXT Scholarship (Japanese Government Scholarship) is a fully funded program offered by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). It supports international students pursuing undergraduate, master's, PhD, and specialized training programs in Japan.
Eligibility Criteria:
Nationality: Must be a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan. (INDIA included)
• Age Limit: Typically, applicants must be under 25 years (undergraduate) or 35 years (graduate studies) at the time of application.
• Academic Background:
• Undergraduate: Completed 12 years of schooling or equivalent.
• Master's & PhD: Must hold a relevant bachelor's/master's degree.
Field of Study: Must be relevant to previous academic background and approved by MEXT.
• Health Requirement: Must meet the medical requirements set by MEXT.
• Japanese/English Proficiency: Some programs may require basic Japanese knowledge, while others allow study in English.

TOEFL/IELTS (if studying in English) or JLPT (for Japanese programs)
Application Process:
1. Find the Application Opening: Check the Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your country for announcement dates.
2. Submit Application: Apply through the Japanese Embassy/Consulate or directly through a Japanese university (University Recommendation track).
3. Written Examination: Take language and subject-specific tests if required.
4. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed at the embassy/consulate.
5. Final Selection: MEXT confirms the final list of scholarship recipients.
