The registration link for the stray round will be activated till March 8 with choice filing and locking facility on March 10.
The MCC will process the seat allotment between March 10 and 11 and after reviewing the choices, the final seat allotment will of NEET PG 2024 counselling will be released on March 12. The allotment will be based on seat availability, cut-off trends, among other factors.
Shortlisted candidates will have to report to the designated institute before March 20 for document verification. The Committee also reduced the NEET PG cut-off percentile 2024 to 5th percentile to ensure that no seats are left vacant due to non-joining or non-reporting.
An MCC statement issued in this regard said: “In continuation of NBEMS notice dated 06.01.2025 and pursuant to the directions of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India vide its letters No. U. 12021/05/2024-MEC dated 20th February 2025, the minimum qualifying percentile for NEET-PG 2024 have been reduced as follows..”
Earlier this year, the MNC had reduced the cut-off for all the categories. The general and EWS category students scoring 15 percentile and above became eligible to participate in the counselling. The revised cut-off required to become eligible for NEET PG counselling announced in January became 10 percentile and above for students belonging to SC, ST, OBC and PwD categories.
The NEET PG cut-off percentile was 50th for unreserved categories, 45th for PwD categories and 40th for reserved category students.
Last year, the NEET PG qualifying percentile was brought down to zero across all categories. The NEET PG cut-off for general category candidates was reduced from the 50th percentile to 35th in 2022. The cut-off for unreserved PwD candidates was dropped from 45th percentile to 20th percentile and for students belonging under SC, ST and OBC (including PwD of SC, ST, OBC), the cut-off was reduced to 20th percentile from 40th.

Amid the reduction of the cut off, Supreme Court had also dismissed a plea seeking directions to cancel the all India quota (AIQ) round 3 of NEET-PG 2024 counselling and to conduct it afresh. A bench of Justices B R Gavai and K Vinod Chandran passed the order after the counsel appearing for the National Medical Commission (NMC) said any such direction would have a cascading effect in all the states.
The plea claimed the medical counselling committee conducting the AIQ round 3 counselling before the state round 2 was concluded led to blocking of seats by candidates from Madhya Pradesh where round 2 of the state counselling had not concluded by then.
