NEET PG 2025 exam date on June 15 in two shifts
NEET PG 2025: Last year, for the first time ever, NEET PG was held in two shifts, instead of the usual one single-shift format
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 on June 15. Like last year, the exam will be held in two shifts. However, the official information bulletin, which will outline eligibility criteria, the exam pattern, and the NEET PG marking scheme, has not yet been released. Once available, candidates can access the bulletin on the official website at natboard.edu.in.
Earlier, in December last year, the NBEMS had announced the internship completion date to become eligible to appear in NEET PG. The internship completion date for eligibility to appear in NEET PG 2025 is July 31, 2025.
Around two lakh MBBS graduates take NEET PG every year for around 52,000 postgraduation seats across the country.
Last year, for the first time ever, NEET PG was held in two shifts, instead of the usual one single-shift format. The exam was conducted on August 11 in two shifts — first from 9 am to 12:30 pm and the next from 3:30 pm to 7 pm.
The board said that examinees were assigned different shifts randomly to make sure that each group was approximately equal in size. The random distribution helped eliminate any potential bias in the allocation of candidates. Additionally, given the large number of examinees spread across the country, the likelihood of bias was minimal, the board said.
With the new system in place, the Board had to adopt a process of normalisation.
The NEET PG results last year for each shift were prepared in the form of raw scores and percentages.
Percentiles up to seven decimal places for the total score was calculated. The method adopted for breaking ties (similar percentiles) shall be based on age — the candidate older in age was ranked higher.
the percentile scores for the total marks for all the shifts was merged and arranged to arrive at an overall Merit List / Ranking. The overall NEET PG merit or ranking was based on the percentile score of the raw score.
