Maharashtra Launches Fellowship Programmes in Management for Private Colleges

The Government of Maharashtra has approved the introduction of fellowship programmes in management at select private unaided institutions. beginning in the academic year 2024-25. Institutional Participation and Seat Allocation Prominent institutions such as Dr DY Patil B School and Indira School of Business Studies in Pune have been granted approval to offer these fellowship programmes. The Maharashtra government has stipulated that the fee structure for these fellowships should be in line with the fees for Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) courses. Any institution found charging fees beyond the approved limits will be subject to penalties under the Maharashtra Educational Institutions Act, 1987.

Exclusion of Government Scholarships and Reservations

Unlike other academic programmes, these fellowships will not be eligible for government scholarships, fee concessions, or quota-based admissions, including those under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) categories. This policy ensures that the fellowship programme remains strictly merit-based and self-funded.

Infrastructure and Admission Process

Participating institutions are mandated to maintain high academic standards by providing well-equipped libraries, advanced laboratories, and other necessary infrastructure. Admissions will be based on merit, following AICTE regulations, and institutions must ensure transparency by publicly displaying admission processes, fee structures, and course details on their official websites.
